Our Mission

The Tuscaloosa Heritage Festival-WAMA Fest is an ethnic cultural arts events sponsored annually by the West Alabama Multicultural Alliance Inc. The focus of the festival is to present performances, exhibits and activities that attract and a broad cross-section of age, socio-economic and ethnically diverse residents in Tuscaloosa and its outlying areas as well as visiting tourists with a primary focus on the youth community.

If we can foster a mutual understanding of individual love as it relates to culture and heritage and express the significance of maintaining harmony in our community among different cultures, we can, without a doubt, Live in Harmony while we Embrace our Heritage.
WAMA Fest offers a culturally aware and diverse event to give Tuscaloosa a unique blend of ethnic art, culture, and history. The festival serves as a conduit for promoting and perpetuating the art, culture, and history of Tuscaloosa, with a focus on the African American community.
